Brief Overview of the X-Files
The X-Files is a division of the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) that is designed to handle cases in which unexplained phenomena or paranormal happenings occur. First assigned to the X-Files was Special Agent Fox (Spooky) Mulder. His counterpart, Special Agent Dana Scully, was later assigned to the X-Files to debunk Agent Mulder's work through science and skepticism. Their immediate superior is Special Agent Skinner who warned Mulder to never make deals with Cancer Man (The Smoking Man). Scully and Mulder, over time, grow alot closer to each other. Mulder actually begins to trust her. They have risked their lives for each other on numerous occasions. Special Agent Mulder doesn't only have enemies like: Cancer Man, Kryczek, etc. He also has allies: Deep Throat (deceased), Lone Gunmen, Mr. X, etc.
